Union Rescue Mission
The Union Rescue Mission is a rescue shelter located in Skid Row, Downtown Los Angeles, which helps homeless people by feeding them, providing them with a place to sleep and gives them a place to call home. Since 2021, I have been going to the Union Rescue Mission every other Sunday for 5-6 hours each time. At the shelter, I help in the kitchen by preparing the meals, serving them, and cleaning up the tables. Moreover, I raised money to buy speakers, a projector and a projection screen, and organised movie nights for the children of the shelter. For my dedication and commitment to the shelter I have received The President’s Volunteer Service Award, the highest community service award, for three consecutive years.
